The Best Ideas for Improving Cohesion in Bar Have Been Selected
The Social Cohesion Innovation Lab, held on March 3 and 4, 2025, at the Princess Hotel in Bar, was a true hub of creativity and joint action. Ten teams gathered with a vision to design solutions for strengthening trust, inclusion, and civic participation, developing innovative ideas through a dynamic process of collaboration and experimentation.
Over two days of intensive work, participants, through interactive sessions, practical exercises, and constructive discussions, tested their concepts, explored new approaches, and refined their ideas. The Lab was an opportunity to exchange knowledge, get acquainted with the methodology of human-centered design, and create concrete solutions that can have a long-term impact on the community.
The central part of the event was the final presentation before an expert jury composed of representatives of the United Nations Development Programme and the Municipality of Bar. Each idea was evaluated according to innovativeness, sustainability, and relevance to the themes of the public call. In the end, four solutions stood out as particularly strong:
- I Am Not a Tourist - an initiative that encourages active involvement in the local community of citizens from Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus;
- Bridges of Unity - a language “speed-dating” that connects Turkish newcomers and the local population;
- I Can Do It - a program that empowers young Roma women through concrete education and skill development;
- e-Tolerance - a digital platform that provides support to victims of cyber violence.
These four initiatives received financial and mentoring support for further development and implementation, with the aim of contributing to strengthening social cohesion and improving the quality of life in the local community.
The Lab once again showed that joint work, innovative thinking, and dedication can create concrete change. Participants left with new knowledge, experiences, and partnerships, ready to turn their ideas into reality. Together we are building a stronger, more connected, and more inclusive society!
